Tips to Combat Sugar Cravings

We all suffer from sugar cravings, especially over holiday times like Halloween and Christmas…

Often cravings come for memories, emotions, weather, poor nutrition and stress. Ignorning the “inner voice” in your head is not easy! So…

Here are some healthy ways to look at changing your cravings:

🍭Deconstruct Your Cravings: meaning, pick apart your thoughts about what you are lacking in your life, which is causing you to fill a void with sugary food.

🍭Take a Step Back: before grabbing something sugary, be mindful, take a step back and look at what your body is really telling you and what it is really needing physically. Usually your body is lacking good fats, movement and sleep.

🍭Bake something with natural low glycemic sugar, like coconut sugar or eat 80% dark, natural chocolate 🍫 Google Paleo Dessert recipes.

🍭If all else fails and the craving persists, feel no guilt, understand that you are only human, have a very small amount of whatever it is that you’re craving and move on.

🍭Then analyze or journal what lead you to your craving in the first place! Make a food journal so you can go back  a check your food triggers weekly, monthly, etc..

🍭Awareness & Acknowledgement are the keys to behaviour change!
